SCIENCE
Characteristics of Materials
Through this unit children should extend their knowledge of the range of materials we use and of the properties that characterise them. This knowledge should help them recognise what needs to be considered when a material is chosen for a particular use.

Helping Plants Grow Well
In this unit children learn about what plants need to grow well and why it is important that they do. Back to top
ICT
Data Handling
children learn to collect and store information involving more than two variables. They will use a database to answer simple questions by sorting and finding the top or bottom and searching in a single field. Children will be introduced to files, records and fields by exploring and comparing computer-based data and paper-based information. They will use a computer database, add to it, carry out simple searches and produce bar charts.
Control
children learn how to create, test, modify a sequence of instructions to control the movements of a floor turtle. They learn to programme the floor turtle to move around an area by using a sequence of instructions and repeated sequences. They will be able to amend instructions to take account of changes in events. Back to top
HISTORY
Invaders & settlers ? Anglo-Saxons
Continue the idea that people from other societies have been coming to settle in Britain for a long time. Children discover what was found at Sutton Hoo. By investigating the finds, children learn about the work of archaeologists and about the culture and way of life of Anglo-Saxons who settled in Britain. Back to top

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Dance
perform dances, focussing on creating, adapting and linking a range of dance actions. They are inspired by a variety of subjects, including some traditional, social and/or historical dances. They work with a partner and in small groups.
Net/Wall games
Focus on developing the skills they need for net/wall games and on how to make the game difficult for their opponent. They learn to direct the ball towards the target area and away from their opponent. Back to top

We will look at the way God is revealed through the different Hindu deities. This includes Brahman, the Trimurti, Family, Traditions, Worship and Scriptures. Pupils will be encouraged to become familiar with Hindu beliefs and to consider how they relate to persons or beliefs in their own lives.
Christianity
The Easter Story and its importance to Christians. The belief that God sent Jesus to redeem the sins of men, and grant them salvation. Back to top
