Have a good Christmas break everyone. I have enjoyed my first 'term' of retirement. Working about 1 day a week doing supply cover in schools with Yrs 2,3,4,5 &6. Every so often meeting for lunch with people such as Mrs Grimson, Mrs Adams, Mrs Pickering and my soul mate Mrs Blezard. Others have joined us at a variety of functions too. I look on the school web site every so often just to see what has been happening.
Well done Mrs Davies on the refurbishment of the library - it certainly needed it.
Good luck to Mrs Fowles in her new job - keep in touch.
It's also good to see that some of the past pupils are keeping in touch too.

Just wanted to let you know the decoration has finished in the school library and it looks great. I am having problems with the library web page so please bare with me. Will put some pics on when I get it working. To any of last years Y6, I spent the money you raised from your leavers party on a brand new sofa, so the staff have somewhere soft to rest their heads at lunchtimes now, Especially MR O'NEILL

The LIBRARY transformation has begun - it is now EMPTY!! There is new carpet being fitted over the half term holiday and then the real work of getting the library looking totally transformed starts.

What a week that was! The last week of the Summer Term was a real roller-coaster - happiness, sadness, excitement, tiredness, exhileration - all rolled into one!
Sports' Day, Garden Party (+disco), Leavers' Assembly and the last Celebration Time of the year.
Lots of visitors and helpers in school made it feel a very lively and busy place.
People leaving us, people joining us, people staying but moving to new classes, people glad to be staying where they are..... All added to the mixture of feelings and emotions.
What came through loud and clear though, was a great feeling of love, togetherness and the knowledge that memories were being made and shared and friendships forged that will last forever.
Ashleigh is more than a school - it's a family.
Have a wonderful summer everyone and I'll see you all in September.

This was the first year we took part in the Destination Imagination programme. We were lucky enough to come second in the National Finals at London in March. This meant that we had won a place in the Global Finals which were held at Knoxville, Tennessee.......AMERICA!!!!! We had to.... well not me, it was the children.... choose a main challenge in January and take part in an instant challenge, which we knew nothing about. I hope that helps explain it a little bit, but Mrs Marr and I are hoping to have a few teams next year......keep an eye out for the trials.

I am looking forward to going into Mr O'Neils class I hope it is as great as Mr Thomsons P.S The Super puppys tried there best at the Blow Football Tournaments.

Well done Year 6 and Mrs Fowles for remembering the 180 rule. I have had a look at your Papyrus work in the Year 6 gallery - absolutely superb. You look as though you were enjoying yourselves. I hear that the classroom is looking more like an Egyptian tomb everyday.
Hope that by now you received the CGP books and have all started some revision at home for your SATs. Remember don't keep doing the things you know but do the things which make you think and ask for help on things you can't do.
Keep woking hard for your own sakes and I hope that you are enjoying the variety of teachers. Which one makes you laugh the most?

I would like to say thank you to all of you who have sent their good wishes for my recovery. Thank you also to the pupils in Year 6 for their very well written and informative letters. it took me an absolute age to read them all but well worthwhile. It sounds like you all enjoyed your day off and well done to all the team who won the sports and to the other teams who are doing very well in their respective leagues. Some of you I know are not sporty and your efforts are not always recognised so well done everyone for working hard this term and doing your best. Hopefully I will see you in the new year.

Well done to the Cross Country Team. They all ran superbly well at St James today. An individual first place and a team first place, an individual third place and a team second place.
